Online Classes

Online Classes

I remember when online classes first started-
'Kya yrr, ek mahine ke liye wait ni kar sakte the kya'
'kya hi hojaega online class se'
'2 hafte mein online wala bhoot utar jana hai inka'
My school started online classes from 23rd March. Mtlb उत्सुक्ता dekh rhe ho. They already knew ki ye lockdown lamba chalega. And we were all kinda mad ki WHYYYY?!!

But it went on and turned out to be fine.

Occasionally jab Narendra Modi aur Salman Khan (Mostly folowed by Katrina Kaif) join krte the, and aakar gana bajate the, I know the kind of excitement ya'll felt.
Be it Babu Bhaiya or Rinkiya ke papa, be it Dus bahane kar ke le gaye dil or Gadi wala aaya ghar se kachra nikal, that 1 min of nuisance is probably every student's favourite online class memory.
I remember someone once played songs in maths class and then continued to change names so that ma'am can't remove him. Also, when someone played Ram bhajans the day after ram mandir bhoomi pujan.
I know it's childish and disturbs teachers, but sitting and staring at the screen for almost 45 min without getting the feeling of being in a class with your friends around is sad. Iss sad mahaul main agar koi aakar aise chhoti moti masti karde toh it's just equivalent to someone asking a stupid question in class to waste time.
Altho vo gali dene wale log ni pasand mujhe. I think that's disrespect. You can have all the fun in the world but when you start crossing line and hurting someone, it's wrong. If you are someone who has done this, please realise your mistake and don't repeat.

Accha kabhi online class mein kisi ka mic on reh jaye galti se and tumko unke ghar ka kahani ghar ghar ki sunai de jaye, toh ek alag si 'HEIN?' wali feel ni aati? And then you start using your detective skills to make scenarios of what must have been going on in their home. But it's more fun when you realise that it's the same thing that happens with you too. And that's when you accept that somethings in Indian households are universally common and that no matter who, where or how the people are, Mummy ka 'Aaj khane mein kya khana hai' and bhai ya behen se 'Jaakar ek glass pani laiyo' is constant.

Also, ye dosto ke cute chhote bhai behen jab screen pe aajate hain tab kitni 'Awwww' wali feel aati hai. You would have never seen them had it been a normal class. Messaging screenshots in group and then saying 'Teri behen toh bilkul terepe gayi hai' is how you become family with your friends. Cute na?

Special mention to those people who just randomly say 'Ma'am network issue tha dubara explain krdo', ahh my heart goes to you. Because trust me even with great network mereko ghanta kuch samajh ni aara tha. And those who mass spam with 'Ma'am blur hai screen, aawaz lag krri hai' ;)

Apne dosto ki video mein unki harkatein dekhkar whatsapp pe apne best friend ke saath discuss krna is the only class discussion that's worth having. 'Usko dekh latak rha hai abhi gir jaega' 'Bhai ye soke uthke seedha camera ke saamne baith gya hai pakka' 'Side mein dekh vo lays ka packet hai ye pakka kha rha hai' 'Vo pakka abhi sone wala hai main shart laga rhi hu' 'Iski shakal se pta chalra hai ye game mein vyast hai'

Now let's talk about how frustrating online classes get sometimes. That constant headache, that boredom that you have never felt before and that 'wtf is going on?' 'kya ho rha hai pta ni bss screen pe dekhke sar hila rhe hain ki samajh aa rha hai'. And if keeping your video off is allowed toh you just leave your phone aside and eat, dance, sing, play a role in ramayan, and suddenly start imagining yourself in an aircraft to.... Wait; I mean you just get away with your life, comeback and see the class is over. (I don't do it but I know you do hehe)
Let's be honest, the kind of education you get in live class with human interaction is real education. But what you learn through a screen is just rewriting the facts and formulas. Nobody like online class and that even includes teachers.

Personal struggle share karu toh, subah subah bina kuch khaye class mein baithna bahut zyada dard deta hai. Also ye mic on krke bolne mein jo anxiety hoti hai and dil 100 ki speed se dhak dhak krne lagta hai. Itna toh class mein bolne mein bhi ni hota tha. Idhar sabke beech mein attention milna thoda zyada hojata hai bhai. I ain't subtitles, I don't want your attention on me.
And my already dadi amma wali kamar is suffering like hell. My eyesight just touched milestones, blindness is not too far away altho ironically I can't see it yet.

But then, ye 5-6 mahine (ab toh hope bhi ni hai ki bss itne hi honge) ke vanvaas mein ye online classes hi mahal hain. I just hope you have friends in class who randomly text you and chat about fun stuff happening around. Or have fun teachers who make sure you are interested. And yes those strong classmates who do something that makes us all laugh, dil se shukriya mere yaar.
Also, if you don't have 'em, be one yourself. Maybe you'll be the one who saves others from fatigue. Keep the spirit of classes in online classes.
Just reminding you, agar online class ni hoti na, toh ye lockdown aur dard bhara hota.

Pro tip- Have friends who call you when the teacher calls your name in class and you are away in your world with mic and cam off. They are real saviours.❤️

Anddddd Please tell me how to ask 'May I go to washroom' on zoom meetings?!
